Beat every Nioh 3 boss. Detailed guide on boss weaknesses, elemental resistances, attack patterns, and easy 'cheese' strategies for solo players.

Nioh 3 Boss Strategy Guide

Every boss in Nioh 3 has a "Gimmick" and an elemental weakness. Exploiting these makes the fight 50% easier.

Region 1: The Cursed Coast

Boss 1: Oni-bi Centipede

  • Weakness: Lightning (Electrified slows it down).
  • Resistance: Poison, Earth.
  • Key Gimmick: Splits into 3 smaller worms at 50% HP.

Strategy:

  1. Phase 1: Stay in Mid Stance. Block its poison spit. Dodge to the side when it charges.
  2. Phase 2 (The Split): Immediately pop Yokai Shift (Brute) or use a large AoE Soul Core (like Mezuki) to hit all 3 parts at once. If you don't kill the clones fast, they will heal the main body.
  3. Cheese Strat: Use Lightning Talismans on your weapon. The "Electrified" status makes its fast wiggle animation play in slow motion, giving you huge parry windows.

Boss 2: Corrupted General (Human)

  • Weakness: Purity, Fire.
  • Key Gimmick: Infinite Ki recovery in Dark Realm.

Strategy:

  1. Block, Don't Dodge: His tracking is insane. Blocking is safer.
  2. Parry Check: Use Samurai Style's Blade Deflect or Katana's Haze skill. He always opens with a thrust attack that is easily parriable.
  3. Dark Realm: When he summons the Dark Realm, throw a Salt item at him to inflict heavy Ki damage.

Universal Boss Tips

  • Confusion is King: Apply two elements (e.g., Water + Lightning) to stop their Ki regeneration.
  • Don't Greed: 1-2 hits, then Ki Pulse and back off.
  • Use Barriers: Barrier Talisman (Onmyo) increases Ki recovery massively, allowing you to block entire combos.
