Learn how to invite friends on Steam/PS5 and solve connection issues."---# Nioh 3 Co-op GuideThere are two main ways to play multiplayer in Nioh 3: **Expeditions** (Co-op Mode) and **Random Encounters** (Visitor Mode).## 1. Expeditions (Play with Friends)* **Best for**: Playing through the entire level together with up to 2 friends (3 players total).* **Mechanic**: You share a "Co-op Gauge". If you die, you can be revived. If the gauge runs out, the mission fails for everyone.* **How to Start**: 1. Go to **Torii Gate** on the map. 2. Select **Expedition**. 3. **Custom Match** -> Create Room. 4. Set a **Secret Word** if playing with specific friends.## 2. Random Encounters (Summon Help)* **Best for**: Getting help with a tough Boss.* **Mechanic**: The host summons a visitor. If the host dies, the session ends.* **How to Summon**: 1. Go to a **Shrine** inside a mission. 2. Select **Summon Visitor**. 3. Cost: 1 **Ochoko Cup** per visitor.## 3. Crossplay & Progression* **Crossplay**: Nioh 3 supports cross-gen (PS4/PS5) but **does NOT** support cross-platform (PS5 vs PC) at launch.* **Progression**: In Expedition mode, mission progress counts for **all players**. In Visitor mode, only the **Host** gets mission progress.## Troubleshooting* **"Connection Error"**: Ensure both players are on the same region setting in the main menu.* **Cannot Summon**: You must have completed the mission once to be a Visitor.## Important Notes- **No crossplay** between PS5 and Steam- Online co-op supports **up to 3 players**## Tools- Party Finder- Co-op troubleshooting (coming soon)
